New Student Transfers

Shelbyville ISD is issuing this notice regarding student transfers for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. Shelbyville ISD has been fortunate to have a great deal of interest from parents and students who reside outside SISD’s attendance zone wanting to attend our school district. Unfortunately, Shelbyville ISD does not have the classroom space or the staffing resources to accommodate the ever-increasing number of students who would like to transfer into our school system. Due to the increasing number of transfer requests SISD has received in recent years, the number of spots available for new elementary student transfers will be limited (or not available) for several grade levels. There will be no new student transfers for Middle School and High School for the 2025-2026 school year (grades 6 through 12). Transfer students in grades PreK-11 who are currently enrolled at Shelbyville ISD may request continued enrollment as a student transfer for the 2025-2026 school year when Shelbyville ISD’s transfer paperwork is made available in April. Thank you.

Transfer Student Requests

Parents of students living outside Shelbyville Independent School District who wish their children to attend Shelbyville Schools during the 2025-2026 school year must request transfer no later than June 2, 2025. All transfer students who are approved will be required to pay $500 tuition, annually to attend. To request paperwork, please call the Superintendent’s Office at 936-598-2641, see school website, or request paperwork by emailing debbieg@shelbyville.k12.tx.us. Click "more info" for form.
"The primary mission of Shelbyville ISD is to provide quality educational experiences to all students in a safe and orderly environment which will make possible their social, economic, and educational development. All students will become lifelong learners and responsible citizens of our democracy."
