"The Shelbyville High School Band is celebrating an outstanding achievement after receiving straight 1's in both Concert and Sightreading at UIL contest held on April 2nd. This accomplishment, along with their perfect scores during the marching season last fall, has earned the band the prestigious UIL Band Sweepstakes Award for the 2024-2025 school year.  The Sweepstakes Award is the highest UIL honor a high school band can achieve, recognizing excellence in both concert performance and marching. To earn this coveted title, the band must receive top ratings from all judges in multiple areas, and Shelbyville High School’s band has done just that, showcasing exceptional talent, discipline, and teamwork."
